Automated DNA Sequencing

Overview:

Instrumentation consists of an Applied Biosystems 3730xl DNA Analyzer. We are currently using dye terminator chemistry using the dRhodamine big dyes. A typical reaction run will yield approximately 750 bases. We will give you a turn-around time when you drop your samples off. Usually it is within 2 days.

If you drop your sample off by 9:30 a.m., you can expect your data to be ready the next day, providing we have not reached our capacity for that particular day. Please look at the white board when you drop off your samples for the date your data will be ready.

$8.00 per lane (includes universal primer)

Requested Concentrations:

Plasmid Template:
0.1 to 0.2 ug/ul for plasmids

PCR Products:
10 to 15 ng/ul (with an average length of 500 bp) adjust amount accordingly for longer PCR products

Final volume: 7 ul in water (no TE buffer please)

Primer:
1.0 uM

Final volume: 7 ul in water (no TE buffer please)

Template and Primer can be mixed by you or we can do it here in the lab. There is no extra charge if we mix it.
