DNA Synthesis and Purification

The Synthesis and Sequencing Facility uses five 394 DNA synthesizers. We offer synthesis in four scales at the following rates:

Turnaround time for Oligos is usually 1-2 days. Oligo orders delivered with a template will be cycle sequenced and subsequently loaded on our automated DNA sequencer as soon as the oligo is ready.

Purification:

Reverse phase HPLC purification is available for a charge of $20.00 per oligo. Purification for many applications is not necessary, including PCR primers, manual and automated sequencing. A crude 40 nmol synthesis will yield 4-12 uM of primer (20-mer) if diluted in 1 ml of water. This is enough for at least 1000 automated sequencing reactions. Your sample may need more than one purification step (no extra charge), depending on the length and if the oligos have been modified with specialty items.

Sequencing Projects:  
We can custom design oligos to be used for automated DNA sequencing at no additional charge.

There are many different 5' or 3' modifiers, labeling reactions, and monomer replacements that can be performed on the ABI 394 DNA synthesizers. Click here to get information on the most common.
