Application Requirements and Deadline
The deadline for pre-applications is Dec. 5, 2008 for admission in September 2009. Pre-applications that are received with all required fields filled in
will be reviewed first. If you submit a pre-application without the GRE
percentile scores, we will hold it until you receive your scores and email
them to us. Please show "GRE Scores" in the subject line of the email.

January 10, 2009 is the deadline for the receipt of ALL application materials for acceptance into the program beginning August 31, 2009.
We will begin accepting applications on September 15, 2008.

- GRE Percentile Scores for General Exam.
- A subject exam is NOT REQUIRED, it is optional, and will be helpful in the review of your file.
A file will not be reviewed until all application materials have been received (see exception for Non-US Citizens on the page below).
A bachelor's degree from a qualified college or university is required. Applicants are expected to have taken the following courses: Biology, Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Calculus, and Physics.
Applicants must take the Graduate Record Examination General Test by October for scores to be received by the January application deadline. Scores must be reported in percentile form on the application from the General Test as well as a Subject Test (Optional) in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or physics.
Applicants should specify the number code 5316 for reporting their GRE scores.
All of the application materials including letters of recommendation and transcripts should be sent together in one package to the central admissions office, Attention: Ms. Anita Cunningham, Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine, Office of Graduate Student Affairs, 1830 E. Monument Street, Suite 2-107, Baltimore, MD 21205. Failure to send a complete package will result in a significant delay in the application review process.

meet BCMB faculty and current graduate students, and learn first hand about
the program. The first weekend will be January 24-27, 2008 and the second weekend
will be February 21-24, 2008. Invited applicants will have their choice of
which weekend to attend.
All trainees who will begin on or after July 1, 2007 will be subject to criminal background investigations. Generally, all offers of admission to School of Medcine degree programs will be conditioned on satisfactory criminal background investigations.

On Campus Recruiting Weekends

BCMB will host two weekends for selected applicants to visit campus,
meet BCMB faculty and current graduate students, and learn first hand about
the program. The first weekend will be January 29 - February 1, 2009 and the second weekend
will be February 19-22 2009. Invited applicants will have their choice of
which weekend to attend.
Criminal Background Check
All Johns Hopkins University graduate students who begin on or after July 1, 2007 will be subject to criminal background investigations. Generally, all offers of admission to School of Medicine degree programs will be conditioned on satisfactory criminal background investigations.
Financial Aid
All students accepted into the BCMB program receive full tuition, health and
dental insurance, and stipend support for the duration of their studies. The
stipend for the academic year 2008-2009 is $26,855.00. Each year the stipend
is adjusted to reflect cost-of-living increases.
