Selected Research Area: Metabolism and Energetics

The department of Biological Chemistry has a rich tradition and history of discovery in metabolic biochemistry.  Today, members of the department are utilizing modern molecular and biochemical approaches to unravel the function and regulation of these pathways from their chemistry to their role in organismal biology.  These discoveries are helping to fuel a renaissance into the central role of metabolic pathways in disparate biological and disease processes.
